The Lost Bank: The Story of Washington Mutual-The Biggest Bank Failure in American History (Kindle eBook) $1.99…_lig_dp_it

"During the most dizzying days of the financial crisis, Washington Mutual, a bank with hundreds of billions of dollars in its coffers, suffered a crippling bank run. The story of its final, brutal collapse in the autumn of 2008, and its controversial sale to JPMorgan Chase, is an astonishing account of how one bank lost itself to greed and mismanagement, and how the entire financial industry—and even the entire country— lost its way as well."

$20 off book and Audible Membership

I was shopping for a paperback book and noticed Amazon was running a promotion where if I add the book and an Audible membership to my cart I would get $20 off the bundle price. The paperback I wanted was $10 and the membership is $14.95 so with the $20 credit I only ended up paying $4.95 for both and I was planning on signing up for Audible anyways so this was a good deal. It was hard to find the deal on mobile so I recommend checking this out on your laptop. There’s an "add both to cart" button on the product page of the select titles that are eligible for the credit.

The Face in the Frost by John Bellairs kindle ebook $1.13

The Face in the Frost by John Bellairs kindle ebook $1.13…B00J84L45E

Well reviewed book by an excellent author.
Considered by many to be a fantasy classic.

From the product page:

A richly imaginative story of wizards stymied by a power beyond their control, A Face in the Frost combines the thrills of a horror novel with the inventiveness of fairy tale–inspired fantasy.

Prospero, a tall, skinny misfit of a wizard, lives in the South Kingdom—a patchwork of feuding duchies and small manors, all loosely loyal to one figurehead king. Along with his necromancer friend Roger Bacon, who has been on a quest to find a mysterious book, Prospero must flee his home to escape ominous pursuers. Thus begins an adventure that will lead him to a grove where his old rival, Melichus, is falsely rumored to be buried and to a less-than-hospitable inn in the town of Five Dials—and ultimately into a dangerous battle with origins in a magical glass paperweight.

Lin Carter called The Face in the Frost one of "the best fantasy novels to appear since The Lord of the Rings . . . Absolutely first class." With a unique blend of humor and darkness, it remains one of the most beloved tales by the Edgar Award–nominated author also known for the long-running Lewis Barnavelt series.
